A founder who buys and sells second-hand laptops and devices, and who learned to sell in unit trusts and enterprise cloud before starting his own business.

About Afiq

Afiq founded Mechanize in 2023. It started from home and grew into a retail store in Selangor, where it buys, sells and takes trade-ins of laptops, phones and tablets, and runs buyback programs for companies and institutions. Before that he sold cloud backup and disaster-recovery services to government agencies, government-linked companies and businesses, and worked as an investment consultant selling unit trusts.

He trained as an engineer, with a degree in biomedical electronics engineering from Universiti Malaysia Perlis. Before university he volunteered with the Malaysian Red Crescent on a school flood-preparedness program.
